What is IP Address ?
An Internet Protocol address (IP address) is a logical numeric address that is assigned to every single computer, printer, switch, router or any other device that is part of a TCP/IP-based network.
Types Of IP Address ?
Basically IP address are classified into two types 1) Static IP address 2) Dynamic IP address.
What is Static IP address ?
Static IP is a IP address assigned permanently to a computer and cannot be changed dynamically from time to time and you must have to configure address manually by going into network options.
What is dynamic IP address ?
Dynamic IP address comes with a lease time which is set on the DHCP server by the network administrator. This IP changes after the lease time expires or the system reboots or renews its IP . This comes with other requires information of Gateway IP address and DNS IP address.
Difference Between static and Dynamic IP
Dynamic IP changes over time to time or whatever time DHCP server is scheduled to renew new IP.
Static IP are, well you know as name suggest they are static. That means static IP doesn't change.
What is DHCP ?
The Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) is a network management protocol used on TCP/IP networks whereby a DHCP server dynamically assigns an IP address and other network configuration parameters to each device on a network so they can communicate with other IP networks. A DHCP server enables computers to request IP addresses and networking parameters automatically from the Internet service provider (ISP)
What is IPv4 address ?
IPV4 is the abbreviation for IP Address version 4. The IPv4 is the 32 bit address.
The 32 bit of the address are in the represented as -
Here each bit is separated by a period(.) from the others and these bits can take value from 0–255. On the basis of the value of the 1st bit the IP address can be classified into categories which are as follows:
Class A - 0.0.0.0 to 127.255.255.255
Class B-22.214.171.124 to 126.96.36.199
Class C-192.0.0.0 to 188.8.131.52
Class D-184.108.40.206 to 220.127.116.11
Class E -240.0.0.0 to 247.255.255.255
Here in general we use class A,B,C for very large network, medium network and small networks respectively and class D,E are used for Multi casting and experiment.
Hence a typical address would look like 10.3.4.127 or 192.168.0.1
What is IPv6 address?
Internet Protocol version 6. It ever so slowly replacing Internet Protocol version 4, which is currently the most used version of the IP. It basically specifies the addressing of computers on a network(s) and sub-networks.
IPv6 increases the amount of addresses available exponentially by using 128 bits represented in hexadecimal notation like: 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334.
How do I perform my IP address lookup ?
Just use this tool and check your IP address details.
What is public address ?
Public addresses are assigned by InterNIC and consist of class-based network IDs or blocks of CIDR-based addresses (called CIDR blocks) that are guaranteed to be globally unique to the Internet.
When the public addresses are assigned, routes are programmed into the routers of the Internet so that traffic to the assigned public addresses can reach their locations. Traffic to destination public addresses are reachable on the Internet.
What is private address ?
Private intranets that have no intent on connecting to the Internet can choose any addresses they want, even public addresses that have been assigned by the InterNIC. If an organization later decides to connect to the Internet, its current address scheme might include addresses already assigned by the InterNIC to other organizations. These addresses would be duplicate or conflicting addresses and are known as illegal addresses .
How to hide my IP address ?
Best way to hide any IP address is using Proxy.
What is proxy ?
a proxy server is a server (a computer system or an application) that acts as an intermediary for requests from clients seeking resources from other servers. A client connects to the proxy server, requesting some service, such as a file, connection, web page, or other resource available from a different server and the proxy server evaluates the request as a way to simplify and control its complexity. Proxies were invented to add structure and encapsulation to distributed systems.
What is VPN?
A Virtual Private Network is a logical network rather than a physical network. To the hosts on a VPN, they appear as though they are sitting on a private network range and can communicate with each other at the network layer (e.g. IP) even though they might actually be in completely different locations on completely different physical networks.
Since there are millions of overlapping private network ranges in the world, this traffic would not be routable over the Internet (because the source and destination would be ambiguous).
Advantages of VPN
- It increase privacy while you are online.
- Enhanced security.
- Ad and tracker blocking.
- Bypass GEO restriction
- Bypass ISP bandwidth throttling
Usage of VPN
- Access full netflix and streaming content from outside the USA
- Use public Wi-fi confidently.
- Bypass country web censorship.
- Use search engine without having any search log.
- Download and Upload P2P file in privacy.
How to check whether my VPN working or not ?
Open our IP address checker after activating your VPN. If your location and IP address shows different one or your choosen one, that means it's working finely.
